Ken Behrens Café & Burgers
A burger shop on University Avenue with 4.8 stars from 365 Google reviews, and no website at all. The menu lived on a window board. We built the site they should have.

The work
Research first. Build last.
- Every fact checkedHours, phone, address and every menu price taken from the owner's printed menu and window board, not delivery apps (their prices are marked up). The name story checked against the 2021 press conference footage.
- A walk-in film from the real shopfrontTheir own Google photo turned into a scroll-controlled film that walks you through the door.
- The best seller, taken apartThe Manhattan is the most ordered item on DoorDash, so it gets the spotlight: every layer pulls apart as you scroll.
- A neon sign you can switchTap letters on and off. Small, fun, and on-brand.
- A lighter phone versionSame look, simpler effects, so it never lags on a phone.

Tested before anyone saw it
Fast is part of the design.
- Phone buttons show in under 1.5 seconds on slow 4GCall, menu and order load before any of the heavy visuals.
- Smooth scrolling on a phoneTested in Safari on iPhone and in Chrome on a slowed-down Android.
- Google LighthouseMobile test, 4 Nov 2026: performance 95, accessibility 100, best practices 100. Main image on screen in 1.8 seconds, zero layout shift.
This is a concept built before talking to the owner. Exploded burger and walk-in film are illustrations made from real photos.
